Huawei recently opened a 5G solution testing and development center in Brazil-Ecosystem Innovation Technology Center (EITC). It is understood that the goal of EITC is to attract customers and partners of telecommunications network operators, as well as universities and start-ups, to simulate the real conditions of applying the new generation of mobile networks in different vertical industries (such as agribusiness, mining and manufacturing). . In addition to 5G technology, EITC will also be used to jointly develop solutions and test network applications (including artificial intelligence and cloud).
EITC is located in Huawei's office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with an investment of 35 million Brazilian reals (approximately RMB 44,404,500). The establishment of the center coincides with the Brazilian government preparing to hold a 5G spectrum auction in September or October this year. After purchasing the frequency, the Brazilian telecom network operator will sign 5G network equipment procurement contracts with suppliers such as Huawei, Nokia and Ericsson. Telefónica, Claro and TIM were approved to purchase 5G network equipment from Huawei. Brazil's first batch of 5G commercial networks is expected to be commissioned in 2022.
